Shaked: Alarming sovereignty map - Inside Israel

Former Justice Minister says she is troubled by map of areas in which Israel would apply sovereignty under Trump plan.

MK Ayelet Shaked (Yamina) reacted to the reported map of areas over which the Israeli government is considering applying sovereignty in Judea and Samaria, calling the map "alarming."

"The heads of the Yesha Council presented me with an alarming map. As of today, the map of sovereignty is alarming, major roads are being cut in Trump's sovereignty plan," Shaked said in an interview with Kan Bet.

She added: "Under no circumstances will we agree that the process of applying sovereignty will have with it the recognition of a Palestinian state."

Shaked said she did not see anything negative in her sitting in the opposition. "Any politician who sees himself in politics over time should also be in opposition. I was a justice minister and I did things."

She said the prime minister could not criticize the judicial system after not trying to promote changes in it.

"Netanyahu has not promoted or tried to change anything in the judiciary throughout his reign. As soon as the investigations opened, he changed his way. This is the first Knesset with a majority in the right to make changes, and he chose to form a coalition with the left."
