Snowpiercer has finally landed onto Netflix and has already gripped a huge audience during the sunny bank holiday.

And it’s no doubt fans have high expectations of the new release, as the series was based on the movie of the same name – written by Parasite’s award-winning filmmaker Bong Joon-ho.

Set on a huge train, which circles the Earth, the story follows the remnants of humanity as the world slowly starts to freeze over.

And while we get to grips with the first two installments, Annalise Basso who plays LJ Fogler has given us a taste of what’s to come, as the episodes drop onto the streaming platform on a week by week basis.

Talking to Digital Spy, she explained: ‘Being in such a contained environment and having the set department and art department create such a real world.

‘It did create a very claustrophobic environment that I think helped bring some sincerity to these moments.’

The star continued: ‘It’s just a chaotic show and every character is dealing with this life in a metal cage, and I think having that environment being manufactured with the set design really helped.’

Turning her attention to her character’s arc, the 21-year-old pressed: ‘She seems like she’s this bored teenager, and I think as people get to know her, they’ll see that she’s really depressed and angry, she’s full of rage, and she doesn’t really have any friends.’

On the day of release, Netflix revealed the episodes would be dropping weekly, in order to mirror the US schedule.

Bosses behind the Twitter account wrote: ‘Episodes one and two of Snowpiercer are now streaming.

‘Because nothing saying “sunny bank holiday” like an eternal train ride through an icy hellscape.’

Jennifer Connely takes the lead and will play the likes of first-class passenger Melanie Cavill.

She is joined by a hole host of stars, including serial by Daveed Diggs, Micky Sumner and Alison Wright.

The first two episodes of Snowpiercer are available to watch on Netflix. Episodes will follow every Monday.
