Anthea Turner jokes she can frown for first time in 20 years as Botox wears off in lockdown
by Louise Randell, https://www.mirror.co.uk/authors/louise-randell/Anthea Turner has joked that she can frown for first time in 20 years as her Botox starts to wears off during lockdown.
The telly veteran celebrated her 60th birthday today, and admitted she "feels a bit old" during an appearance on Loose Women.
Anthea explained she's struggled with not having her hair and nails done, and admitted she's also missing her wrinkle-freezing jabs.
She said: "I feel a bit old actually, you know when people say 'oh 50 is the new 40' but no, 60 is 60...
"This is called lockdown locks, this is called "I haven't been able to get to the hairdressers." Also I've got no nails, and I haven't been able to frown quite like this for a while. For about 20 years."
It's not only Anthea's 60th birthday plans that got cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak - she's also had to postpone her wedding to tycoon Mark Amstrong.
The former Blue Peter presenter had been due to marry her partner in Italy this September, but the plans are now on hold indefinitely.
She admitted she's not letting it get her down.
Anthea said: "I'm chilled about it. We haven't tried to make any plans [to reschedule]. There's no point. We have to park it...
"I've got more air miles behind me than in front of me. I've never valued my health so much and I'm saving the moment and not always worrying.
"All those years and TV programs... I never enjoyed any of it because I was worrying."
Before falling for Mark, who she has called 'The One', Anthea was married to ex husband Grant Bovey for 13 years before she uncovered he'd been cheating with a woman half her age.
Her first marriage was to DJ Peter Powell for eight years before they divorced in 1998.
