Coronation Street's Alya to suffer consequence of locking Geoff out of Yasmeen's house
by Verity Sulway, https://www.mirror.co.uk/authors/verity-sulway/Coronation Street this week will show heartbreaking scenes as Alya Nazir visits her grandmother Yasmeen in prison.
Alya assures Yasmeen that she knows her husband, evil Geoff Metcalfe, was abusive and is lying about her attacking him unprovoked.
But poor Yasmeen is still so traumatised and brainwashed by Geoff, she refuses to admit he was ever abusing her.
Geoff's son Tim drives him home from hospital - but when Geoff tries to get back into Yasmeen's house, he makes a shock discovery.
Clever Alya has had the locks changed on the doors, so Geoff cannot get back in and tamper with any incriminating evidence.
This is bad news for Geoff's scheming plans - as the secret camera he planted in Yasmeen's living room to spy on her is still in there.
Realising he will not be able to dispose of the camera before anyone finds it, Geoff desperately checks the video feed on his phone.
Tim is furious at Alya and we know how terrifying Geoff's temper can be - is Alya in grave danger?
Meanwhile, Shona Ramsay, who recently returned to the cobbles, is suffering from memory loss after her brain injury last year.
She visits her son Clayton Hibbs in prison, but admits she only remembers him as a little boy and not from the age of 14, where he started to become unruly.
Cruel Clayton tries to poison her mind against her ex, David Platt, trying to convince her he is a heavy drinker who beat her and lied to her all the time.
Sarah visits Shona and she begs her to come home and give David a chance.
Shona agrees to visit Gail and Sarah Platt - but her key worker Alice informs David that Shona does not want him there.
Shona is clearly confused and can’t recognise Harry at all, but as she helps make drinks Shona instinctively knows where the tea bags are kept, and Gail is thrilled by this flicker of recognition.
Whilst Gail and Sarah discuss Shona’s progress with Alice, Shona wanders out to the garden and disappears.
Where will vulnerable Shona end up, and who will find her?
