Crowd gathers in Waterloo Park over weekend

Bylaw was called but ultimately, no fines were issued

It seems for the most part, people in Waterloo Region were behaving over the weekend.

During Monday's COVID-19 update, the Region's CAO Mike Murray said it's been 'relatively calm' the past few days in terms of compliance complaints.

A full update will be available Wednesday.

In the meantime, The City of Waterloo has confirmed that bylaw officials were called out to Waterloo Park on Sunday - as there was a crowd of about 30 people.

After some education, the group dispersed. No charges were laid.

The City of Kitchener confirmed it didn't receive any complains about large gatherings outside.

It was a different story in Toronto, where thousands packed a popular park, throwing caution and social distancing to the wind.
