President Muhammed Buhari ‘s Eid-il-Fitri message to farmers to produce more food for the country has confirmed a prophecy made by Prophet Temitope Joshua in January.

Temitope Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Ikotun, Lagos had said then that more attention should be paid to Agriculture in the months ahead.

President Buhari had on Sunday told farmers to double their efforts in producing more food for the country following the raging COVID-19 pandemic as Nigeria no longer has “any money to import food”.

President Buhari made the statements in a short interview with state house correspondents after observing the Eid-el-Fitr prayers at the State House, Aso Rock, Abuja

“I wish the farmers will go to farms and save lives so that we can produce what we need in sufficient quantity so that we don’t have to import food,” President Buhari stated, calling on those in the agricultural sector to maximise the opportunities afforded by the rainy season.

“In any case, we don’t have any money to import food. So, we must produce what we are going to eat… I hope the rainy season would be bountiful so that we get a lot of food,” he added.

The church said yesterday that President Buhari’s call reechoed the prophecy of the cleric, who has been calling on the government to invest in the agricultural sector for several years.

The church claimed that on Sunday January 5, 2020, Joshua, during the weekly service, had declared year 2020 a “year of humility”.

He said during the service:
“Agriculture will help the economy because the economy will have a backlash.

“People should invest in agriculture. Let us farm to help the economy,” Joshua stated.

The church noted that the coronavirus outbreak that ensued in the following months has indeed triggered severe economic repercussions worldwide, with multiple nations instigating ‘lockdowns’ in an attempt to quell the spread of the virus.
