A car said to have been used in attempted thefts across the city has been sent to be crushed by police.

Newtown officers ordered the driver of the Honda Jazz to stop after it was clocked in Birmingham on Bank Holiday Monday, May 25.

The motorist failed to stop for the police and the vehicle was soon found abandoned near a block of flats.

Officers said the Honda had been involved in several bids to steal other vehicles.

The Honda was seized by police and was en route to be destroyed on Monday morning.

Force Response took to Twitter to share an image of the vehicle shortly after it was dumped in a city street.

Alongside it they wrote: "This vehicle has been involved in the attempt theft of other vehicles.

"It was sighted this morning #CTEAM #Newtown and failed to stop for officers.

"The vehicle was located shortly after and is now on its way to be crushed."
