Interestingly enough, the live photos reveal a larger display along with a new charger. Apparently, the new Mi Band 5 will feature a “plug-in” type of design. Despite this change, the design seems to remain intact, besides a new flatter finish. Of course, this may be a matter of perspective, but it seems slightly more flatter than its predecessor. The Mi Band 4 has more pronounced curves.

According to the leakster in Weibo, the price of the Mi Band 5 will be around CNY 200 (~$28), maybe a little more.

New Features are coming with the Band 5

According to reports, the new Band 5 will feature NFC on its International variant. Interestingly enough, this feature was something unique to the Chinese version in previous versions. Moreover, the new wearable will feature AI assistant support, with deep integration of Amazon’s Alexa.

Another report points out the presence of a menstrual cycle tracking function as well as SpO2 reader. The latter function can read the level of oxygen saturation of the bold. It’s quite a useful and interesting feature in these days plagued by the COVID-19 virus. Rumors have it that the new wearable will debut in June or July this year. We’ll be keeping an eye in the rumor mill for more details.
