Manufacturers regularly incentivize certain vehicles in the United States to aid slow sales volumes and to clear old stock as new model years roll into the showrooms, so shopping smart often means you can land a pretty sweet deal. The Ford Edge is the latest model to receive crazy discounts, with up to $6,000 off on certain models for the month of May, as well as additional financing deals varying by region. This is as the American automaker looks to try and keep sales volumes up during the recent market slump, while also making way for the 2021 model year expected to start reaching showrooms before October this year.

Available nationwide, Ford is offering a cashback rebate of $4,500 on all 2020 model year Edge SUVs. But if you're willing to shop around in certain districts and pursue a slightly older 2019 Edge, you can get up to $6,000 off the purchase price, according to Ford Authority. This is great news since the 2020 updates to the Edge were mainly cosmetic, with the 2019 model getting the bulk of the changes. Depending on where you shop, the incentives do vary. In Miami and Detroit, 2019 Edge models only qualify for a $4,000 discount, while New York City and Los Angeles give you the full $6k. On 2020 models, the $4,500 discount is available on all Titanium and ST derivatives.

Various financing options and incentives can also be accessed, with some regions offering $1,500 credit for the first three payments. It's not quite as good as the Ford dealer paying your rent for a few months, but it makes access to the Edge incredibly easy, and it means a 2020 Edge Titanium, which usually retails for $38,100, will now cost you less than the lower-specced SEL trim normally would. You best act fast, though, as the discounts are only applicable until June 1 and only on standing dealer stock. Prices vary by dealer, so it pays to shop around as well.
