Contact made with Everton – Toffees presented signing opportunity as big boys turn away

AC Milan have been tentatively dangling Franck Kessie on the market for some time. Ahead of each window there’s claims of potential moves to the Premier League, and it will be no different this time.

However, now instead of claiming there’s interest from English sides, TMW say the player is being offered around. It’s stated there’s been contact in recent weeks with Everton and Newcastle, to try and find out if there’s interest from either of the clubs.

TMW pick Everton out especially and say the Toffees are looking to sign a midfielder in the next market. Allan is mentioned as the major possibility, however, unlike elsewhere, it’s claimed there’s been no proposal.

Should signing the Napoli player prove to be too difficult, then the idea is Everton may be tempted by the opportunity to take Kessie from Milan instead. It’s not thought they’d face much competition, with TMW saying ‘the big names are not interested’.

Whether Everton would consider taking the bait isn’t explained, and it does seem clear that Allan is Carlo Ancelotti’s priority for the position. There’s nothing wrong in having alternatives, though, and the Merseyside club have shown that with their pursuit for a central defender.
