Fans Think This Killing Eve Cover of 'Look What You Made Me Do' Was Performed By a Fake Band

by

On Sunday, Taylor Swift tweeted about the cover of her 2017 song "Look What You Made Me Do," which played on the latest episode of Killing Eve last night. "VERY STOKED about this cover of lwymmd on @KillingEve by Jack leopards & the dolphin club!!," she tweeted with a clip of the show credits. It didn't take long for Swifties to catch wind of something suspect: Is "Jack Leopards & the Dolphin Club" even a real band?," they wondered. Turns out it's probably not.

The band appears to have credits on streaming services, including Spotify. But there is only one song under their name. Yep, that's right. The song from Killing Eve. The Taylor Swift cover. Nils Sjöberg is credited as the producer on the song. That's the pseudonym that Swift used in 2016 when she co-wrote the 2016 song "This Is What You Came For" with Calvin Harris and Rihanna. Hmm. Hmm!

Per The Independent, Swift's brother, Austin Swift, once used the name "The Dolphin Club" as his Twitter name, and late last year, he was seen at the studio with his sister and Jack Antonoff. This leads to the fan theory that this is when the cover was recorded. Last year, music entrepreneur Scooter Braun acquired Scott Borchetta's Big Machine Records, along with Swift's six-album catalog.

This could have been Swift's attempt to keep Braun away from her song. Her fans seemed pretty convinced by that theory:

If this theory is correct, then Swift truly pulled off another impressive move. Her fans clearly agree.
