How to write to your MP to complain about Dominic Cummings

by

If you want to complain to your MP about the prime minister’s chief adviser there are several ways you can do it.

Dominic Cummings has been criticised after travelling 260 miles from London to County Durham in March to self-isolate with his family while official guidelines warned against long-distance journeys.

The PM’s top aide apparently feared he and his wife would be left unable to care for their son after they suffered from coronavirus like symptoms.

Further reports also suggested he took a second trip to the North East in April, having already returned to London following his recovery from coronavirus.

Cummings has so far refused to resign over the issue and he will answer questions at a press conference on Monday.

He denied he did anything wrong and told reporters he needed to ensure he had childcare for his son, and behaved ‘reasonably and legally’ in doing so.

When asked if he thought his actions looked good, he said: ‘Who cares about good looks?

‘It’s a question of doing the right thing. It’s not about what you guys think.’

Cummings’ was later backed by Boris Johnson, who began Sunday’s press conference by confirming his senior aide would not be sacked.

The PM said his adviser acted ‘responsibly, legally and with integrity’, adding he ‘followed the instincts of every parent’ and would not be ‘marked down’ as a result.
