Netflix drops first 2 episodes of icy thriller Snowpiercer adaption

Netflix has dropped the first two episodes of its Snowpiercer adaptation – because nothing says bank holiday like watching an action-thriller set in icy terrain, right?

The series is a soft reboot of the film of the same name, directed by Parasite’s Bong Joon-ho and starring Captain America himself, Chris Evans.

It follows the the passengers of the Snowpiercer, a gigantic mega-train that circles the Earth, carrying the last remnants of humanity, seven years after Earth has turned into a frozen wasteland.

Like we said, sounds cheery right?

To celebrate the launch, Netflix tweeted that the first two episodes of the serial are available to binge now – with the rest dropping weekly every Monday, mirroring its release schedule in the US.

‘Episodes one and two of Snowpiercer are now streaming,’ Netflix announced. ‘Because nothing saying “sunny bank holiday” like an eternal train ride through an icy hellscape.’

We couldn’t have put it better ourselves.

Requiem For A Dream star Jennifer Connelly takes the lead role in the adaption – playing Melanie Cavill, a first-class passenger on the train.

She’s joined in the serial by Daveed Diggs, Micky Sumner and Alison Wright.

Snowpiercer episodes 1 and 2 are available to stream now via Netflix. Episodes will follow weekly on a Monday.
