New Mercedes-Benz S-Class shows face as first official teaser drops!
by Ryan BubearMercedes-Benz has released the first official teaser image of its upcoming new S-Class, giving us a good look at the W223-generation sedan’s face.
The Stuttgart-based firm says the world premiere of the seventh-generation S-Class is “planned for the second half of 2020”, with production set to start later in the year at a new “ultramodern” production facility in Sindelfingen.
The company claims the new S-Class will reach a “completely new level in terms of artificial intelligence and needs-based electrification, among other things”.
Ola Källenius, chairman of the board at Daimler and Mercedes-Benz, promised the new version would be “exceptional”.
“This year is a special year, as we will launch our new flagship: the next generation of the S-Class. It will be a technological masterpiece. Its predecessor has already raised the bar, but the new S-Class will be exceptional.”
Judging by the teaser image above (which we've lightened somewhat), the S-Class isn’t in line for a dramatic styling overhaul, but it will gain new headlamps and a fresh interpretation of Benz’s grille.
