Kwara records four new COVID-19 cases
by Agency ReportThe Kwara State government says it has recorded four new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 74.
Mr Rafiu Ajakaye, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor and Spokesman of the State Technical Committee on COVID-19, made this known in a statement issued on Monday in Ilorin.
Ajakaye said that out of the 1,112 tests so far conducted, 1,030 tested negative for the coronavirus, while 44 were active out of the remaining 74 cases.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, the country recorded 313 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 7,839.
The centre said, “On the 24th of May 2020, 313 new confirmed cases and 5 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.
“No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
“Till date, 7839 cases have been confirmed, 2263 cases have been discharged and 226 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
