Former DG allegedly stabs wife of 50 years to death in Imo state

The former Director-General of Imo Broadcasting Corporation, Sir TC Okere is at large after allegedly stabbing his wife of 50 years to death earlier today, 25th May, 2020 in Imo state.

The Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, Ikeokwu Godson Orlando, confirmed that Sir TC Okere a former Director-General of the IMO BROADCASTING CORPORATION IBC, allegedly stabbed his wife to death this morning.

Her death brings to an end a 50 years marriage, with the crime suspect, Sir TC Okere, reportedly on the run.

The spokesman of the Imo state police command, Mr Orlando Ikeokwu (SP), who confirmed the incident, said that the police will soon commence an investigation into the matter.

He said: “It is true that the former Director-General of the state-owned broadcasting corporation TC Okere allegedly stabbed the wife to death this morning and the command will soon commence an investigation into the matter.”

The tragic incident reportedly happened in Imerenwe in Ngor-Okpala council area of Imo State.

The late wife was a retiree of the Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo, and the circumstances surrounding the alleged murder by the former head of the state media company remains unknown.
