Four part drama Little Boy Blue will air across four consecutive nights on ITV from Sunday, May 24
by Simon DukeThe shocking murder of youngster Rhys Jones is firmly in the spotlight with the return of heartbreaking drama Little Boy Blue on Sunday night.
If you aren't aware of the tragic back story to the four part mini-series, it is all about the real-life murder of 11-year-old Rhys, who was unwittingly caught in the crossfire of a gang war in Liverpool.
His death rocked the city and the whole country and it was award winning director Jeff Pope who brought his murder to the screen in the form of Little Boy Blue, which was made with the support of young Everton supporter Rhys’ parents, Melanie and Steve.
The Little Boy Blue cast is led by Line of Duty star Stephen Graham and if you tune into episode 1 on Sunday night and think that the action and actors seem familiar that is because the drama was first aired in April 2017, where it broke the hearts of millions of viewers.
It tells the story of the long and extensive investigation, led by Merseyside Police SIO David Kelly, that eventually brought Rhys’ murderer and his associates to justice.."
