A British influencer has revealed her money-saving hack for trimming split ends without the need for a professional hairdresser.
Posting on TikTok, Stefanie Williams, from London, explained how split ends can be snipped away within minutes to achieve smoother looking hair.
She shared a clip demonstrating the three-step hack, which involves separating hair and then twisting it to reveal flyaways.
The influencer, who posts under the name Stef_fit, used a sharp pair of scissors to cut the stray strands that don't blend into the twisted section of hair.

Stefanie posted the hack on TikTok with the caption: 'Stop split ends and means hair won’t break off so easily, trick my mum told me. Curly hair straighten it first.'
She went on to hashtag the post with '#hairtut #chopshop #fyp'
The TikTok star advised her 222,000 followers to repeat the steps every three weeks to maintain healthy-looking hair.
The hack joins a stream of tips she has offered to those with an interest in fitness and lifestyle.

Many people were so impressed by the sound of the hack that they decided to try it out for themselves - and were delighted by the results.
One person wrote: 'I tried this and tbh I'm pleasantly surprised. My hair feels and looks more smooth'
Another enthused: 'I did this and got instant results! The end of my hair looks so healthy. Thank you'
A third added: 'Omg I started doing this and trimming the bottom and my hair grew so much, like a lot'

However, others warned that the hack may cause more damage than good.
'I did it and now I have loads of whispy hairs that fly around everywhere. I would not recommend but I probs did it wrong lol,' wrote one.
Another suggested: 'Twisting your hair like that is just going to create more split ends'
A third added: 'Last time I tried this on my best friend I accidentally cut six inches of her off.'
