COVID-19 Tracker: Ulhasnagar crosses 200-mark; Badlapur tally stands at 174

Thane: Ulhasnagar crossed the 200-mark on Monday with 18 new cases of coronavirus cropping up in the city, including three deaths. The total number now stands at 209, according to Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation, while the death toll has climbed to nine.

A 60-year-old woman from Ambedkar Nagar (Ulhasnagar-3) and a 61-year-old man from C-Block passed away. A 35-year-old residing in Hira Ghat also died due to COVID-19.

Out of the remaining 15 patients, five cases have been reported from Samrat Ashok Nagar while two each have been recorded in Brahmanpada and Ambedkar Nagar. Two persons have tested positive in Kaushal Palace while one person each from Waghri Pada, Anandwadi, Anand Nagar and Subhash Tekdi has contracted the virus.

On the other hand, Badlapur reported 13 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, and with that, the city's tally has climbed to 174. One more person passed away because of the virus and the death toll now stands at seven in the city.

According to Kulgaon Badlapur Municipal Corporation (KBMC), the deceased was an 85-year-old woman residing in Ambika building near Bhagwati Hospital in Badlapur West.

Seven people, including a five-year-old, have tested positive in Parmeshwar building, Hendrepada, all of whom are relatives of a previously infected person.

A 60-year-old man from Sai Kiran Heights and a 55-year-old woman from Govind Vihar, Sarvodaya Nagar has contracted the virus.

A 40-year-old residing in Gaondevi, who works as a firefighter in Mumbai, has tested positive for COVID-19. On the other hand, a 32-year-old man from Shirgaon, working with the Mumbai Police has also tested positive.

A 47-year-old BMC official from Shirgaon and a 31-year-old man from Shirgaon, deployed at the Kurla bus depot have also been infected by the virus.

Meanwhile, Ambernath's coronavirus tally rose to 66 with four new cases on Monday.

So far, 26 people have been cured and discharged, while two have succumbed to the virus in the city. The remaining are currently undergoing treatment at COVID-19 designated hospitals in and around the city.
