Cave of the Patriarchs to reopen on Tuesday - Inside Israel

Cave of the Patriarchs reopens following coronavirus lockdowns - but the number of visitors will be limited.

Beginning on Tuesday, the Cave of the Patriarchs (Me'arat Hamachpelah) will be reopened to worshipers and visitors.

The Cave was closed due to the coronavirus outbreak, with just one quorum of ten men allowed to pray at the site.

The site's reopening is accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Health, and will allow up to 50 people to enter at once. Visitors will be required to obey the instructed of security forces and site personnel.

All visitors are required to wear masks and maintain a distance of two meters between themselves and other visitors. Food and drink will not be permitted at the site.

Books such as prayer books, Psalms, and Bibles should be brought from home.

The site will be open between the hours of 4:00a.m. and 10:00p.m.
