Region reporting four new COVID-19 cases, another death

227 cases remain active

For the third straight day, Region of Waterloo Public Health is reporting just four new cases of COVID-19.

Another 29 cases have been resolved, meaning 227 are still active.

There have been a total of 1,082 cases, with 742 now resolved (69 per cent).

Meantime, for the first time in five days, officials are letting us know of another death related to the virus, which raises the local total to 113.

The death was at Forest Heights Revera, where 50 residents have now passed away.

The long-term care home in Kitchener has had an active outbreak since April 1.

But an outbreak has been declared over at The Village at Winston Park long-term care, meaning there are 11 at long-term care and retirement homes in Waterloo Region.

Regional officials will hold a news conference at 11:30 a.m., which you can hear live on 570 NEWS.
