The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is one of the best cars in the world - period. It's the ultimate German luxury limo and offers luxury, power, and, as always, the most advanced technology that the brand has to offer. A famous television personality once said "If you want to know what technology is going to be in your car in ten years' time, look at today's S-Class". World-firsts and brilliant innovations are nothing new to the range, but how will the latest and greatest look? Well, today we finally have something official to show you.

Just one official picture of the all-new 2021 Mercedes S-Class has been released and it's shrouded in darkness to save details for the final reveal. What the picture does tell us, as earlier spy shots did, is that advanced LED-laser lighting technology will be employed, as evidenced by the blue highlights in the headlight units. This will also be joined by a large new grille. While the likes of BMW have taken the big grille to extremes on models like the 7 Series, it seems that Mercedes is following the trend too, but its design is far more coherent and easier to accept. The AMG-line lower grilles have also been massaged to help the new central grille fit in better.

While it's tough to know whether legislation and indeed the technology itself will allow for the advances that Mercedes wants to make in autonomous driving, there's no doubt that the new S-Class will look as regal and as elegant as always. When a new model debuts from any automaker, there will always be those who find fault with at least one aspect of the design, but thanks to this newly revealed image, we think the style of the S-Class is in safe hands for at least another decade.
