Liverpool and Tottenham both said to have ‘offered €70m’ for same player

Napoli have been linked with Lille’s Victor Osimhen, and claims have been appearing around Europe in recent weeks of growing interest and even offers going in to Lille.

The situation feels very similar to what happened last year with Nicolas Pepe. There were all kinds of claims of interest and offers, and it appeared the leaks were being encouraged both by Lille and sources close to the now Arsenal player.

Napoli were at one stage thought to be close to signing him, before Arsenal got ahead of them and closed a big money deal.

Lille appear to be using similar tactics with Osimhen, and Liverpool and Tottenham, and again Napoli, are part of that. AreaNapoli cover claims from Italian journalist Diego De Lucas, who has reported both Liverpool and Tottenham have ‘offered €70m’ for the player, which would make things difficult for Napoli.

Whether they have or not is another thing entirely, not all the claims around Pepe were true, so it’s reasonable to expect the same with Osimhen. Such a price appears to be over the top, and if Tottenham and Liverpool are serious, it’s very unlikely they’d go straight in with that figure.
