Zlatan's career could be over after suffering 'devastating' injury
by Buzz ContributorAC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is said to have suffered a potential Achilles injury in training which could put his career in jeopardy.
Sky Sport Italia report the 38-year-old limped out of this morning's session with a 'long face'.
“Today, Ibra stopped during a training match at the end of the session. After a finish, he puts his weight on the foot and feels something in his calf, the one that he struggled with between January and February," journalist Peppe Di Stefano wrote.
“There’s a concrete possibility of a strain but also fear of an Achilles tendon problem. We have to be careful about what we say, but it must be said.”
No official confirmation regarding the severity of the injury has been offered as of yet.
Ibrahimovic returned to Milan earlier this year after teasing a potential swansong in his native Sweden.
The striker has enjoyed a stunning career, winning trophies in Spain, England, Italy and France.
He also plied his trade in America for LA Galaxy.
Ibrahimovic graced the Premier League with his supreme confidence at Manchester United under Jose Mourinho, where the pair won the Europa League and the League Cup together.
And former team-mate Jesse Lingard has compared Ibrahimovic to NBA legend Michael Jordan.
"I have to say Zlatan. As soon as he came to Man Utd you could feel that aura around him," he told BeIN Sport.
"He had that winning mentality and that drove us, motivated us to win many trophies. Not many people have had that effect.
"He had that raw winning mentality, he'd played at big clubs before and had that mentality.
"He came to Man Utd and said he wanted to win trophies.
"At that time I was a young player, Marcus Rashford was young, as soon as we won that first trophy it made us hungry for more. I'd say he brought that winning factor and winning mentality to the team."
