Amanzimtoti criminals nabbed by response officers

Saturday, 23 May
ET Rapid Response received a call via the CCPO radio channel of a suspect stealing light fittings from a school in Bengu Road, Amanzimtoti. “After a foot chase, the CCPO guard and our response officer apprehended the suspect and he was handed over to Toti SAPS for processing and charged accordingly,” said managing member Tony Lokker.
Sunday, 24 May
The CCPO’s George Snodey called for assistance after receiving information of the whereabouts of a suspect wanted for house breaking and theft of a firearm. “Our TRT and response officers responded immediately and the area was blocked off by CCPO guards and our response officers.” After a quick search of the bush, the suspect was located, with woonga capsules and a large amount of cash in his possession, and he was handed over to Toti SAPS.
Later that afternoon the CCPO received a call regarding a woman who was robbed of her handbag in Louis Botha Avenue, Amanzimtoti. All ground forces were deployed and it wasn’t long before an ET motorcycle officer located the suspect on Lewis Drive, where he was apprehended and handed over to Toti SAPS with the stolen goods.
“These arrests show the role the CCPO and its partners play in the fight against crime in our area,” said Lokker.
