Massive amount of drugs, alcohol and cash confiscated in Komatipoort

Drugs, alcohol and cash with an estimated street value of R10 million were confiscated this morning at the Lebombo Border Post.

According to Brig Leonard Hlathi, the SAPS and SARS at the border post did a routine check on a truck coming in from the Mozambican side. They found a hidden compartment and discovered drugs, alcohol and cash.

A South African woman (48) and a Mozambican citizen were arrested. They will appear in the Komatipoort Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
