Celebrity MasterChef line-up roasted by Jennifer Saunders and Dom Joly

by

The Celebrity MasterChef line-up has been finally been revealed, but not everyone is sure who exactly the all-star cast is.

The bumper list of 20 contestants includes RuPaul’s Drag Race UK finalist Baga Chipz, the show’s first-ever blind contestant Amar Latif and tennis coach Judy Murray.

However, actress Jennifer Saunders and comedian Dom Joly were among those who struggled to put names to faces.

Commenting on the contenders, Jennifer, whose husband Ade Edmondson won the 2013 series, tweeted: ‘I managed 9 out of 20.’

Meanwhile, Dom added that he also only managed to identify nine of the celebrities ready to impress John Torode and Gregg Wallace with their culinary skills.

Savage.

Those competing in the upcoming new season include Quadrophenia actor Phil Daniels, footballer John Barnes, Rak-Su singer Myles Stephenson and Olympians Sam Quek and Sir Matthew Pinsent.

Also on the bill is Death In Paradise actress Shyko Amos, This Time With Alan Partridge star Felicity Montagu, comedians Crissy Rock and Judi Love, and singer Lady Leshurr.

And not forgetting Kingdom Choir conductor Karen Gibson, television presenters Gethin Jones, Jeff Brazier and Dom Littlewood, The Only Way Is Essex star Pete Wicks, broadcaster Riyadh Khalaf, and The Apprentice star Thomas Skinner.

Filmed before the current coronavirus crisis, the host of famous faces will be put through their paces over five weeks to find out who has the cooking skills to take home the trophy.

Speaking about the upcoming series, Carla-Maria Lawson, commissioning editor for the BBC, said: ‘The 20 celebrities who’ve taken up the MasterChef challenge this year are an exciting, ambitious and brave bunch.

‘There’s been no holding back in their pursuit of the coveted Celebrity MasterChef title and their efforts will be a real treat for viewers in the BBC One summer schedule.’
