Grayson Perry is keen to do Strictly with Oti but says he 'won't wear a dress'

Artist Grayson Perry has told how he is keen to do Strictly Come Dancing with professional Oti Mabuse, although admitted ‘wearing a dress would feel weird’.

The British artist, who is most famous for his ceramic vases and cross-dressing, has pledged that if he was asked to take part in the BBS show, then he would dance dressed as a man to ‘create a steamy dynamic’.

In 2017, Perry, who is also known as his alter-ego Claire, revealed that he was approached by Strictly bosses, although he turned it down at the time.

Speaking about why he would like to be partnered up with Oti, who scooped the crown with soap star Kelvin Fletcher last year, he said: ‘Oti is fabulous. She’s a really great choreographer. I would want to go on as a man because a lot of those dances are incredibly sexual and, dare I say it, erotic.

‘To do it in a dress would feel weird – maybe at Halloween I’d put on a frock.’

‘I’ve been watching Strictly since the first series and I love it. I really enjoy the show and every year I look at it and think, “Cor, I’d really like to have a go at that”,’ he added to The Sun.

It comes after Strictly Come Dancing has reportedly approached Gordon Ramsay’s eldest daughter Tilly for the upcoming series.

Following the success of having YouTubers Saffron Barker, 19, and Joe Suggs, 28, on the show, they are keen to appeal to a younger audience.

And now TV bosses are keen to get 18-year-old Tilly on the show when the new series finally hits our screens.

Strictly Come Dancing comes to BBC this year.
