Lockdown breacher's epic rant to police as she 'didn't realise Wales wasn't in England'

A woman ranted she "didn't realise Wales wasn't in England" after police challenged her about breaking coronavirus lockdown rules.

Footage of the woman shows her arguing with two officers on a north Wales beach on Wednesday during the hottest day of the year.

The woman also called Welsh people a "bunch of b*******" following the furious tirade which she shared on social media.

The woman is understood to have travelled more than 100 miles from the West Midlands to Barmouth with her children, the Daily Post reported.

Police had asked her to leave the area but she did not appear to understand the Welsh lockdown rules.

She claimed she was within her rights to be there because “ Boris Johnson said that you can”.

People in England have been warned against visiting the coastline in other parts of the UK, including Wales, where stricter lockdown rules apply.

In a video she recorded herself and then shared on social media, she asked one of the officers: “You’re telling me it’s illegal to be at this beach when Boris Johnson said that you can?”

Despite the officer informing her that the rules in Wales are different to those in England, she replied: “So which beach can I go to today?”

After the officer explained that she was in breach of the Welsh government's travel regulations by crossing the English border into Wales, she said: “That’s 100 per cent that is? I’ve been here three times before.”

But later that day, she posted a foul-mouthed rant about Wales, and admitted she did not realise Wales and England were two separate countries.

She wrote: "I was ignorant. I didn't realise Wales wasn't in England.

"Fully understand I was in the wrong. See I admit when I f*** up. “But tomorrow we going to an English beach.

"F*** you Wales you bunch of b*******. No f***er was even there locals lined up waiting.

"Come on it’s me I don’t do rules.”
