The fire service has confirmed an investigation into the cause of the blaze in Langar will "continue in the coming days".

The news comes on the fourth day since crews first responded to the scene at Langar Airfield Industrial Estate.

On Monday, May 25, the Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed crews would be leaving the site having extinguished the fire.

Calls first came in around 2.40pm on Friday, May 22 and fire fighters worked through the night to get the flames under control.

Thick plumes of black smoke filled with 'unidentified' chemicals could be seen for miles around.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews have worked hard to extinguish the fire at Langar Airfield Industrial Estate and will be leaving the site today in the hands of the owner.
