Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has named his teammate at the national team Wilfred Ndidi as the one who named him 'The Governor' which is what many people call him now.

Ahmed Musa is one of the successful Nigerian players considering the wealth he has acquired in football having played in the Russian Premier League and also in the English topflight.

He recently had an exclusive Instagram live interview with Legit.ng where he spoke on many things from how he started his football career before playing for the Super Eagles.

And when the former Premier League star was asked to explain why he is being called 'The Governor' by Nigerians and also in many part of the world, he revealed that Wilfred Ndidi gave him the name.

Musa stated that Wilfred Ndidi was impressed with the photos he saw where him and Shehu Abdullahi gave the less privileged some valuable things before the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

''It was Wilfred Ndidi who gave me the name Governor because he was impressed with what I did for people before the World Cup and that was how people started calling me that,'' Musa told Legit.ng exclusively.

The former Leicester City star also explained that he has no ambition of going into politics after leaving football.

"For political ambition, I don't intend to hold run for any position in government after football," Musa added.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Musa is currently in Jos, Plateau state capital, with his family after leaving Saudi Arabia.

Musa who played with Vincent Enyeama in two World Cup has now stated exclusively to Legit.ng that Super Eagles players are still missing Enyeama, adding that he and some senior players went to beg Oliseh but their plea fell on deaf ears.
