Sharon Osbourne claims that her brother 'fat-shamed' her – and hasn’t spoken to him in 13 years!
by Ntsoaki MoketeBody shaming is unacceptable at any age.
And when it happens to younger kids and teenagers, the effects can be even more damaging.
Sharon Osbourne was discussing this widespread problem when she revealed her personal experience with being bullied over her weight.
During a discussion on The Talk show, the 67-year-old claimed that her brother, David Arden, used to fat-shame her while growing up and would encourage his friends to bully her as well.
She also revealed that they haven’t spoken in 13 years, The Mirror reports.
"I used to get fat-shamed by my brother. He used to get his friends to join in," Sharon said. "It sticks with you."
Sharon also mentioned that the comments about her weight have remained with her throughout her life.
"At times I was bigger than others. My weight has always gone up and down, and that’s it.
"It’s been going on for hundreds of years, people going on about people’s weight. And it never will end," Sharon shared.
Sharon and her brother had a falling out in 2007 over where to bury their father, legendary music manager Don Arden. Don had worked with bands like Black Sabbath, Electric Light Orchestra and Small Faces.
The mom-of-three, who’s married to Black Sabbath co-founder Ozzy Osbourne, has previously claimed that she’s given David some £500 000 (now about R11 million) over the years.
"I think he looks at me and my family, all successful, and it eats away at him," the former X Factor judge revealed.
"It seems all he wants is our money. I want absolutely nothing to do with him.
“David knows that everything is going to my kids, but he seems to think he can get a few hundred grand out of my husband in his will . . . even though he’s said horrible things about Ozzy behind his back. It’s disgusting.”
David has also said that his sister looks "unrecognisable" due to all the cosmetic surgery she’s had.
Sharon has banned her children – Aimee (36), Kelly (35) and Jack (34) – from speaking to her brother ever again.
