Normal People's Paul Mescal ditches infamous chain as he smokes cigarette
by Cydney YeatesNormal People’s Paul Mescal has been spotted having a cheeky cigarette and stroll during the bank holiday weekend – without his infamous chain.
After making the most of his unlimited exercise yesterday by going on a topless jog, the 24-year-old actor was seen oozing chilled vibes as he puffed away while walking around London.
Paul attempted to keep a low profile and covered his face in a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses, and kept cool in crisp white shorts, a pair of Stan Smiths trainers and a plain blue t-shirt.
The star had his earphones plugged in as he wandered about, and flashed a delicate tattoo on his left arm.
Paul and co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones have found themselves well and truly in the spotlight thanks to their portrayal of Connell and Marianne in the 12-part TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s Normal People.
It follows the relationship of the pair throughout different points of their lives, as they move from school to university – and beyond – together.
The show debuted last month and is already an international sensation, with the likes of Katy Perry, Kourtney Kardashian and Gemma Collins among those tuning in.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting confirmation of a second season, and while it’s not been given the go-ahead just yet, Paul hasn’t ruled out the possibility.
Speaking to Wonderland, he admitted: ‘Oh, there’s no question that character to me is still alive and breathing and very much has a lot of life left to live.
‘[Connell] has a relationship with Marianne that is maybe unfinished. ‘I do feel like the series that has finished is its own thing, and I’m totally comfortable with that.
‘It’s not on the cards at the moment, but if I got the opportunity to play him again, amazing.’
Normal People is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
