Makeup artist creates gory illusions that look like food bursting out of skin

by

A make-up artist has created a sequence of bizarre and rather gruesome food illusions on her skin.

Angela Jaynes, also known as Kalypsoh online, 27, from Boston, U.S, says she enjoys creating looks using special effects, oil paint and clay.

The artist creates food illusions on the skin which appear as though her leg has been torn open and stuffed with a series of foods, including popcorn, mac and cheese and cereal.

They look incredible too and Angela certainly knows what she’s doing as she has created special effects for films before.

Angela, who works at beauty store Sephora, hopes to turn her unusual hobby into a career by launching videos on YouTube and Instagram.

Angela explained; ‘I have always been into makeup and art.

‘The special effects came into play around three years ago after seeing it gain popularity online.

‘I create the photos and videos you see here as a hobby for now and I am expecting to turn it into a profession within the next year.’

She added: ‘The food in body illusions all started with a giant bag of Swedish Fish candy my mother gave me for Christmas a couple of years ago.

‘I was sitting in the art room where most of my ideas come to me and was wondering what I was supposed to do with all of this especially knowing I was not going to finish eating them!’

At first Angela toyed with the idea of applying real food to her skin for the effects but decided against it.

‘I was really about to put real food in my leg!’ she said.

‘I had never seen it done before and it caught my attention. These looks are fun and eye-catching for me. I feel excitement during the whole process.

‘I will never not love applying the blood and latex!

‘People love watching the process videos, seeing exactly how I did it and something about the removals is also very satisfying to people.’
