Cadbury settles debate about chocolate going in the fridge

With so much time having been spent at home over the last two months, it’s been all too easy to tuck into treats and raid the cupboard whenever you fancy a distraction.

And one thing guaranteed to perk you up when you need a sweet treat is a bit of chocolate.

But there’s a debate that rumbles on across households about where is best to keep chocolate.

Some people store it in the cupboard, while others prefer to eat it chilled from the fridge.

Especially when the weather is as warm as it has been recently, many like to chill their chocolate to ensure it doesn’t melt.

If this is a debate you have in your house, it can now be settled once and for all, after Cadbury Australia set the record straight, reports the Mirror.

They explained: "Chocolate should always be stored in a slightly cool, dry, dark place such as cupboard or pantry at temperatures less than 21°C to ensure the quality isn't compromised."

Their reply came after a Twitter user named Bruno came up with a ‘definitive’ list of what should go in the fridge. He tweeted: "The 100 percent accurate and definitive list of what does and does NOT go in the fridge. Don't bother commenting, this isn't up for discussion."

His list of what should not go in the fridge, including chocolate, along with eggs, vegetables, butter and champagne

While his list of items that he says go in the fridge, includes peanut butter and extra virgin olive oil.
