French outlet Le10Sport has reported that Serie A giants Juventus have "opened talks" for the transfer of their former midfield star, who left the Turin club in 2016 for a then-world record fee of €105 million (R2.01 billion).

Real Madrid have also been linked with the Frenchman in recent years, but it seems the Bianconeri are in pole position after making contact with the player's agent, Mino Raiola.

Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane is still reportedly keen to sign Pogba, but any possible deal would be blocked due to the friction there is between Real president Florentino Perez and Raiola.

Earlier this year, Pogba's agent revealed he was engaged in talks with Juventus vice-president Pavel Nedved about the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.

"I talk to Pavel Nedved and Juventus about many things, including about Pogba and other players, as is only right for a big club," Raiola told Tuttosport in February.

"You need to get information, see what's happening, put down a few hypotheses, dream a little…

"Along with Juventus, there are other clubs in for Paul, but right now he is with Manchester United.

"There's nothing impossible in the transfer market, that has already been proved by Juve, PSG, Real Madrid. The achievement of impossible things is part of this business."
