Govt Deploys GSU As Villagers Fight Over 1 Cow
by Derrick OkubasuThe government has deployed General Service Unit (GSU) officers to Narok following a fight that reportedly erupted over the theft of one cow.
According to a report by KBC, the GSU officers were deployed to Olooloipanki Oloruashi in Narok where two people were killed in the fighting that erupted on Saturday, May 23.
The fight erupted after one group accused the other of stealing one cow.
In the incident, two people were killed and several injured with the situation expected to worsen warranting the deployment of the officers to maintain order.

Officers from Ololunga Police Station arrested one man who was accused of instigating the fight by claiming the cow was stolen by the opposing group before mobilising youth to retaliate.
The man claimed that he had taken the cow from his father when it was stolen, an incident that resulted in houses getting touched.
Confirming the incident, Narok County Commissioner Samuel Kimiti disclosed that he had managed to calm down the situation with the help of a security committee from Narok.
Kimiti further noted that the communities had agreed to maintain peace with the officers being tasked with disarming residents.
Area MP Korei ole Lemein urged the residents to refrain from taking the law into their hands.
One of the deceased was attacked while on his motorbike and killed on the spot with one of the injured receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital.
Two others are still at the Narok Referral Hospital with GSU officers expected to patrol the area for a while to ensure normalcy returns.
