Fury as youths spotted spitting and vandalising social distancing sign

Residents near Fens Pool Nature Reserve have slammed the 'disgusting' behaviour

Dudley residents have reacted with fury after seeing a video of youngsters spitting at and vandalising a sign.

The footage was captured at Fens Pool Nature Reserve where a group of youths were seen flouting the lockdown guidelines.

The group allegedly set about trashing and spitting at a social distancing sign located at the beauty spot.

Members of the community slammed the 'disgusting' and 'disrespectful' behaviour.

A concerned resident living near the Fens Pool Nature Reserve took to social media to condemn the despicable behaviour.

On Facebook, they said: "If these are your children you must so proud especially the one spitting on the coronavirus sign then vandalising it.

"This is just blatant disregard for property and public safety. Two girls, three boys."

Neighbours in the area were furious at the incident of anti-social behaviour.

Another resident said: "It's not their fault, it's their upbringing. Bad parents."

A third added: "Disgusting .. no respect."

Commenting on the post, a visitor to the area said: "My worry is we have so many visitors now and you really don’t know what is going on on the reserve on styles etc , stay safe when visiting."

Fens Pools has the largest area of open water in Dudley and comprises three pools Grove Pool, Middle Pool and Fens Pool.

It is a popular space for fishing and is often visited by wildlife fans and bird watchers.

It is located just off Pensnett Road in Brierley Hill.
