CBSE Plans Class 10, 12 Board Examinations Across 15,000 Centers To Maintain Social Distancing

by ABP News BureauNew Delhi: The HRD Minister, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced on Monday that the pending CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations will be conducted across 15,000 centers around the country. The number of centres has been increased to maintain social distancing and prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
Earlier this month new date sheet was released for the remaining exams of class 10th of CBSE Board. For both classes 10th and 12th, the exams begin from July 1 to July 15. For class 10, the exams will be for the subjects - Social Science, Science Theory, Science without practical, Hindi course A and B, English Communicative and English Lang and Lit.
The board was not able to conduct the Class 10th and 12th exams due to the Coronavirus outbreak in the country. Pokhriyal has tweeted about the decision and has said that earlier the exams were supposed to be held only in 3000 centres.
A set of guidelines have been drafted for proper precautions this includes carrying hand sanitizer in a clear, transparent bottle, mandatory use face masks to cover mouth and nose, and maintaining social distance. Also, no exam centers are in Containment Zones.
The guidelines also state that the parents will have to ensure that the students appearing for the exam is not sick.
The Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also announced that Union Ministry of Home Affairs will exempt some lockdown restrictions and allow state boards to conduct board exams for Class 10 and 12 during the lockdown.
The Ministry has also given guidelines for conducting the exams such as no centres in containment zones and mandatory use of face masks.
