Trouserless Clyde boss Danny Lennon left fans in stitches with his cheeky video sign off at the club's player of the year awards.

The Bully Wee boss co-presented a virtual awards night from the comfort of his own home on Saturday, which saw club captain David Goodwillie crowned player of the year for the third season running.

But Lennon, seemingly in full black-tie attire, stole the show as it was revealed beneath the tuxedo jacket, he'd been presenting in his underpants and sandals.

Twitter users were left in hysterics with @davidbrown_94 commented: "Hahahahaha amazing", while @footballchat_ posted "Legend of a man."  @sheenz_m_ said: "Fine pair of pins."

The awards were broadcast on the club’s official YouTube channel and there was no surprise to see Bully Wee skipper Goodwillie take home the top prize.

Goodwillie, who was the top goalscorer in League One this season, netted 25 goals for the club in 35 appearances, with 20 of those strikes coming in the league.

Goodwillie also bagged two hat-tricks in those showings and contributed six assists. The 31-year-old also scored five in Clyde’s biggest win of the season, a 6-1 league triumph at home to Stranraer.

The prizes were determined by an online supporters’ vote and Goodwillie topped the poll with 41 per cent of the vote.

Goalkeeper David Mitchell finished runner-up with 32 per cent of the fans’ backing, while midfielder Ray Grant, who made 38 appearances, finished in third place with 15 per cent.

However, Mitchell and Grant did earn prizes on the night with Mitchell crowned the Executive Club Player of the Year, while Grant was named Club Website Player of the Year.

There was a second prize for Goodwillie when he was also named the Castlemilk Branch Player of the Year.

The final award of the night went to Chris McStay, who won the Goal of the Season for his strike against Queen of the South on September 7, 2019.
