The Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a structure fire near the Santa Barbara Airport early Monday morning.
At 4:51 a.m., fire crews reported heavy smoke from Hollister Ave and arrived at Technology and Thornwood Drives in Goleta to find a structure fire with three adjacent vehicles fully involved.
Further investigation determined the structure appeared to be a semi-trailer or Conex box, it's currently unknown if it was converted into a residence or not. Next to the three vehicles on fire was a boat that firefighters defended from the fire.
The fire was knocked down and crews are performing a thorough search of the structure.
There's been no impact on the airport. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
