Tottenham have ‘asked’ about player – Spurs must make ‘out of the market’ offer
by Naveen UllalLast month, we covered claims from Sport explaining that Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs looking at Barcelona’s Emerson.
The La Liga winners and Real Betis paid €6m each to acquire the right-back’s services and as per the agreement between the two clubs, he will be at Los Verdiblancos until the end of next season. Barca have an option to take the fullback for €6m in 2021.
Diario de Sevilla claims the Brazilian has been a ‘revelation’ this season and has drawn attention from clubs across Europe.
Spurs get a mention and the newspaper states Barca have informed Betis that Tottenham, Inter Milan and Bayer Leverkusen have ‘asked’ about the player’s situation.
Should any of the three clubs make a proposal that’s considered ‘out of the market’, then the defender could move away from Betis in the next window.
If Emerson’s stay at Betis is cut short in the summer, the Seville based club will not only be compensated by the Camp Nou side, but they will also receive a percentage of the fee from his sale.
