Leeds United ‘very serious’ about signing – Strong possibility he’ll be at Elland Road next season

by

Turkish newspaper Milliyet report Cyle Larin is still drawing attention from Leeds United and there’s a strong possibility that he could play at Elland Road next season.

Larin was loaned out to Belgian side Zulte Waregem at the start of the season and impressed before the Belgian season came to a premature halt.

Milliyet claim it’s highly unlikely that Zulte will use his €2.5m redemption clause and that leaves the Canadian striker with two options for next season, staying at Besiktas or joining another club such as Leeds United.

Leeds United’s interest in Larin is said to be ‘very serious’ and Marcelo Bielsa’s side could knock on Besiktas’ door with a bid in the summer.

Previous reports in the Turkish media stated Zulte have decided not to activate Larin’s redemption clause due to the Coronavirus outbreak and that they had a deal in place with Leeds United, which has now collapsed due to the virus.

However, it seems he doesn’t have a future at Besiktas, which will give some hope to Leeds United ahead of the next window.

Larin has scored nine goals and provided eleven assists in all competitions for the Belgian side, and his contract with Besiktas will expire at the end of June 2022.
