Andhra Pradesh Latest COVID-19 Updates

AMARAVATHI: Andhra Pradesh on Saturday reported 44 new cases of novel coronavirus on Sunday taking the state's tally to 2,671. 

According to the state health bulletin released on Monday, 10,240 people have been tested for coronavirus in last 24 hours. Out of them 44 have been tested positve for the virus. Of the newly registered cases in the state, 5 were reported in Chittoor and two in Nellore.

A total of 41 people have been recovered and discharged from various hospitals on Saturday. With this the total number of cured patients reached to 1,848.

No virus related fatalities were reported in last 24 hours, bulletin said. Death toll in the state stands at 56.

Atleast 767 people are being treated in hospitals currently. 

India recorded the biggest spike in daily COVID-19 count as states had registered 6,977 fresh cases in last 24 hours. India overtook Iran to become the 10th nation among the countries worst-hit by coronavirus pandemic. 

Meanwhile, AP CM YS Jagan wished extended his warm wishes on Eid-Ul-Fitr and urged everyone to celebrate the joyous occasion staying at home following the lockdown norms imposed by the government to curb the spread of virus.
