Audi speedster films himself clocking 325 km/h on a British highway...
by Ryan BubearThe driver of what appears to be an Audi RS6 Avant has filmed himself clocking 325 km/h on a highway in the United Kingdom.
According to reports, the clip was filmed on the M23 near Crawley in West Sussex and posted on Twitter (but was soon deleted ... although not before someone grabbed it for YouTube). British police, meanwhile, say they are “working tirelessly” to track down the driver.
The 60-second video shows the accelerating Audi joining the highway at about 60 mph (or around 96 km/h), passing a handful of vehicles on its way to a heady 202 mph (325 km/h).
From what we can tell, the vehicle in question is a previous-generation RS6 Avant, employing a twin-turbo 4,0-litre V8 offering all four corners 412 kW and 700 N.m (though it could also be the more powerful Performance variant). Tick the right box and the Ingolstadt-based firm would raise the top speed to 305 km/h, but it seems this particular example has had its electronic limiter removed.
At the start of 2020, South Africa had a similar case, with the driver of a (seemingly tuned) Audi TT S filming himself clocking 308 km/h on the N1 in Johannesburg. The 36-year-old male was soon tracked down and arrested.
