Report: Arsenal and Roma have not yet started Henrikh Mkhitaryan negotiations

Arsenal are looking to sell the Armenian playmaker this summer.

There has been plenty of talk in recent weeks regarding the future of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and a permanent exit from Arsenal.

The Armenian is currently out on loan at AS Roma and, according to numerous reports in Italy, the Giallorossi would like to keep him.

Football.London recently reported that Arsenal could accept a bid under £10 million for the player. It follows a report from Corriere dello Sport that his agent, Mino Raiola, has been negotiating the exit for a number of weeks and an £8.7 million deal was in the works.

A later report from Calciomercato also suggested that Arsenal might ask for another Raiola client, Justin Kluivert, as part of any deal for the Armenian outcast.

But despite all this talk, it seems that Arsenal have not yet begun discussing a permanent exit for the player.

That is according to Football.London. They report that neither Arsenal or Roma have discussed the terms of a permanent transfer yet, although it is clear the Gunners want to shift the player, who has just one year left on his contract in North London.

So it would appear that for now, it is either Raiola pulling some strings or the Italian press doing some educated guesswork regarding the structure of any potential Mkhitaryan move.

Whilst the talks have not yet commenced, you can almost guarantee they will in the weeks to come.

Getting some money for Mkhitaryan could then prove pivotal, as Arsenal look to make additions themselves this summer.
