Wildcats star Bryce Cotton to return to Perth for 2020-21 season
Perth Wildcats star guard Bryce Cotton will reportedly return to the club for the 2020-21 season.
ESPN reported earlier on Monday that Cotton had multiple offers on the table but declined them and has renegotiated his contract to avoid a significant pay cut as the National Basketball League looks to save money during the coronavirus pandemic.
The news comes less than a month after Cotton announced he was opting out of his Wildcats contract.
Cotton, 27, would have been impacted by the cost-cutting measures that will see players earning over $200,000 have their salaries slashed by up to 50 per cent next season.
ESPN said Cotton was the second of five players who left the league as cost-cutting measures were implemented to return to their respective NBL team after Matt Hodgson recommitted to the Brisbane Bullets.
Cotton is a three-time NBL champion, two-time MVP, two-time grand final MVP and three-time Gordon Ellis Medallist.
He played 110 games for the Wildcats after joining the team in January 2017.
