Viewers were left with 'tears in their eyes' after Villanelle and Eve were moments from being reunited in the penultimate episode of Killing Eve.
The action-packed episode, which was released on BBC iPlayer this morning and aired in the US last night, saw the two main characters come seconds away from each other in a tense scene set in a Scottish train station.
Eve (Sandra Oh) had followed Villanelle (Jodie Comer) to the platform but the pair were forced to wave at each other after Villanelle boarded the train seconds before it departed.
The moment left fans of the show desperate for more and they called for the pair to finally be brought together in next week's finale.
One tweeted: 'There were literal tears in my eyes for that one second when Villanelle and Eve (Sandra Oh) looked at each other at the train station.'
During the latest episode of Killing Eve, Dasha (Harriet Walker) watched as Villanelle, dressed in a furry green cropped coat, raised her golf club ready to hit an unsuspecting victim over the head on an Aberdeen golf course.
However she decided to change her target at the last minute and struck former mentor Dasha instead. Dasha fell to the ground while the man hurried off.
Horrified at what he'd just witnessed, he bumped into Eve, who was hot on Villanelle's tracks, and informed her of the 'crazy woman's' whereabouts.
After Konstantin (Kim Bodina) picked up Villanelle to make her great escape, the pair were moments away from boarding a train when Konstantin fell to the floor clutching his chest.
'I don't want you to die,' Villanelle said, as she watched him have a heart attack.
However, she also wasn't happy for his money to go to waste either and after grabbing a receipt from his pocket, she rushed to make the train on time - but missed Eve, who was seconds too late.
And by the time the pair realised they were in touching distance of one another, the train departed the platform and the duo were left with no choice other than to wave each other off instead.
'We have to stop running into each other like that,' Villanelle said, leaving Eve a voice message.
Commenting on the drama, one viewer penned: 'Eve is past the point of her obsession with Villanelle that she's willing to do anything just to get to her as seen with how she literally left a DYING man to chase after v on a moving train.'
A second added: 'When Eve asked Konstantin 'where is SHE?' And he turns toward Villanelle in the train, it was like he finally gave in and said 'okay okay you guys should just be together! I approve now!' while a third pleaded:
'Yeah, Villanelle. You're right. You should stop running into each other and just MEET UP. #KillingEve.'
