A MAN who was accosted in Sta. Ana, Manila the other day for not wearing face mask found himself in deeper trouble after the Manila Police District-Station 6 discovered upon verification that he is also a burglar.

John Perecles, a stay-in helper at 2205 M. Roxas St., Sta. Ana, Manila, was caught in possession of items belonging to his neighbor Marciano Rizon, 47, of 2203 M. Roxas St., Sta. Ana, Manila.

Police said he was accosted at around 8:30 a.m. by Barangay Kagawad Salvacion Delfin of Barangay 876, Zone 96, for not wearing a face mask, at the corner of M. Roxas and Pedro Gil Streets in Sta. Ana.

On inspection, found in his bag were a toy robot, a bluetooth speaker and several disposable face masks which, as it turned out, he stole from the victim’s house.

The suspect is now facing charges for violation of the mandatory wearing of face mask and qualified theft before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
