Report: Tottenham have joined race to sign Newcastle and Everton-linked teenager
by Will ButcherFrench outlet Foot Mercato have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur and a whole host of other European clubs are keeping tabs on FC Nordsjaelland teenager Mohammed Kudus – amid reports Newcastle and Everton were keen last week.
Kudus, 19, is earning rave reviews for his performances in the top tier of Danish football. Already a two-time Ghana international – in which he scored in his first cap against South Africa – Kudus is certainly a talent with enormous potential.
Naturally a midfielder, Kudus clocked up 30 appearances for Nordsjaelland last summer scoring three goals – but it is this season which has caught the eye. Being moulded into a striker, Kudus has netted nine league goals in 19 games.
France Football have claimed that Newcastle and Everton want Kudus, while Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport say clubs can sign Kudus for less than £4.5million. PSG, Marseille, Rennes, Inter Milan and Fenerbahce are also keen.
TBR’s view – Kudus could be a gem, at a bargain price
Especially given he is scoring goals and already has more than 50 senior appearances for a side playing their football in the top tier of Danish football. He is certainly worth the risk at such a tiny price.
But what also is intriguing about Kudus, is his ability to play in two completely different positions – as a central midfielder or up front. For the likes of Newcastle, Everton and Spurs, not only could he be an asset – but also cover multiple areas of the pitch.
